Kestrel
_Name: Kestrel, though most call her "Kessie"
Age: young (5th gen)
Gender: female
Status: Born feral, now owned (but prefers to wander around town by herself)
Breed: 2/8 Australian Shepherd, 2/8 husky, 1/8 collie, 3/8 blue heeler
Parents: Kangee(c)me and Colette(c)Lone
Siblings(In Order of Birth):
Litter One:
Gyp(c)Breezestarbuck, Kipp(c)street dog, Pip(c)Lone, Tripp(c)Lone, Whip(c)Lone, and Zip(c)me
Litter Two:
Ruven(c)Lone, Nituna(c)me, Yaro(c)me, Adeaze(c)me, Katima(c)Lone, and Princess(c)Lone
Litter Three(her littermates):
Blue Jay(c)me, Kite(her twin brother)(c)Lone, and Love Bird(c)Lone
Personality: Although her brother is rather fun-loving and charming, Kessie always found herself uncomfortable with "letting loose", and is a pretty stiff dog. She likes everything to be just so, and is not fond of change in her routine. Easily goaded on, she dislikes being called a "bore" by her friends and siblings and will go to any lengths, even far outside her comfort zone, to prove them wrong despite going against her better judgement.
Crush: She is fond of a burly male, Gen (Generosity), yet she can't seem to bring herself to fully commit to him...
History:
Kessie's litter would be the last--and the smallest--for their parents, but by now Kangee and Colette knew how to get around their owners and care for their children by themselves. Thus Kestrel and her siblings were born on the border between their parent's two farms, safely hidden in a well-concealed den near a fence post. It was not Colette's wish that her last children should grow up forced to work--she'd rather they choose for themselves as they get older.
So Kestrel grew up with her siblings on the farms, perfectly free and happy. However, when she became a year old, Colette and Kangee could no longer hide her or her siblings that easily. While her eldest sons went on a hunting trip, Colette asked her eldest daughter, Whip, to take her little brothers and sisters into town to find a safe place for them. Lovebird, who idolized Whip, decided to stay on the farm and work like her sister did. Blue Jay decided to stay in town as a stray, as did Kite and Kestrel.
For a while the siblings enjoyed the life quite a lot. However, Kestrel soon found herself tiring of the discomforts of the street, and Kite felt the same way. Luckily, a man saw the young male out on the cold street and took pity on him. Kessie was wary of the man at first, but after watching Kite live happily at the house for a few days, she mustered up her courage and scratched at his door. The man originally thought she was Kite, and scolded her for being outside. Much to his surprise, he saw Kite sleeping in the kitchen as he brought Kessie in from the cold, and had to make a double-take at the nearly identical dogs. In the end, he found the whole situation hysterical, and took Kessie in as well without a second thought.
As the siblings got older, they found out that they lived next door to their older brother, Ruven. Kite began an annoying competition with him to see who could "get" the most girls. Kessie strongly disapproves, both of the competition and of Kite's friends, mainly a conceited male named Yael. Since Yael and Kite tease her about being such a "prude", Kessie has taken to wandering around town, and prefers to be out of the house for the most part now, since Kite always has "visitors" and Yael is entirely unbearable.
On one of her walks, she runs into a dashing pit-bull mix, called Gen. Kessie was polite at first, but the male grew on her. They started seeing each other, and Kessie is very pleased with him. Still, whenever he asks her to be his mate, she finds herself conflicted for no apparent reason, and always finds a way to kindly decline.
Other: Has a twin brother, Kite.
