Tylana
(Fostering on Behalf of Iditarod)
Name: Tylana
Age: 3rd/4th gen
Gender: Female
Breed: 1/2 husky, the rest unknown
Parents: Unknown; Adopted by Ricochet
Siblings: also unknown
Personality: Tylana is very boyish, independent, and sensible. She has a smart head on her shoulders and good street sense, learning after Ricochet how to use her wit and stealth to survive on the streets. She usually acts very mature for her age as she can handle "ugly truths" better that more naive dogs the same age; Ty knows life is no picnic and is very accepting of and resigned to reality. However, she's not above pulling a few tricks, as pranking and other mischievous activities are one of her favorite past-times.
History:
Tylana grew up not knowing her heritage, but in fact her father was a husky, her mother a mixed-breed. She was raised under the tutelage of expert street fighter Ricochet, who taught her to fight to the best of his ability, having no children of his own. She showed aptitude in this area, though not much dedication. As much as Rico encouraged her, TY never really put her heart into their practices, as she preferred to enjoy her life as a young dog instead.
When Rico started bringing around another female a bit older than Ty, her immediate reaction was mild jealousy--had Rico decided to drop her and train someone else? It turned out not to be the case, though. The young girl, Royle, was really Rico's own niece who needed a place to crash from time to time. She and Ty struck up a fast friendship, and treated each other even as sisters.
Later a pup Tylana's own age joined the gang permanently, under the watch of a high ranking female, Shila. Ty at first had a little crush for the boy, Sparky, and often teased and pranked him because of it. Royle wasn't a permanent member of the gang as she lived primarily with her mother, but when she would show up, she and Ty would tease Sparky and an older male Royle liked named Thatcher. The girls made up their minds to nab their respective crushes when they were older, but this, at least for Tylana, disintegrated over time as she grew to love Sparky as more of a brother, and he was enamored with another girl--a house pet--anyway.
As she got older, Tylana would often accompany Ricochet to gang rumbles and such, though he never let her get too involved. Her own prodigious skill in fighting evolved after she put her heart into it more, wanting to be taken seriously by the gang and especially Rico. Her reputation still had time before it would match her guardian's, but Tylana's interests shifted after meeting someone.
He was a red, collie-like mutt, obviously a tender-foot house mongrel. Ty wasn't interested at all at first--she merely wanted him to beat it off her gang's territory. However, there was something...he was lost, but in more ways than one. Tylana wasn't one for compassion, but nevertheless she spared a second for the depressed male. They swapped stories of unrequited love--Ty with Sparky and the guy, Theo, with some chick named Crysa. Unused to sharing her emotions like that, Ty backed off and avoided Theo, but he was apparently more clever than he seemed; he found her, all the time, even when she didn't know she was being trailed. Tylana really fell for the guy, who turned out to be quite charming and funny.
They became mates (and Ty became pregnant pretty quickly too), but he seemed fidgety and distant after that. Ty suspected he was keeping something from her. Then, one day, he didn't show up to see her. Or the next day. Or the next. Tylana immediately became paranoid-- she knew the rival gangs were gaining power and feared he had been plucked off. Worse still, she heard through the grapevine of a highly effective puppy-trading black-market targeting certain gangs and their vulnerable puppies. Fearing for her unborn children, Tylana fled the only home she ever knew and vanished into the streets.
The last anyone heard, she had birthed her litter successfully, but was rumored to have skipped town with them on a train to the city.
Other:
-very compact build, and shorter than a typical husky mix
-As a pup, she and Royle enjoyed teasing Rico's cranky girlfriend, Dezzy, to no end. Ty never liked Dez much, preferring the more bad-ass heroine(in her eyes), Shila.
