Rico "Ricochet"
Name: Rico. Took the gang name "Ricochet"(ric-oh-shay)
Age: 2nd gen.
Gender: Male
Breed: 1/4 malamute, 1/4 wolf, and 1/2 German shepherd
Parents: N/A
Half-Sibling: Bonnie
Crush: Dezzy
Mate: thinks its Dezzy
Pups: Tylana (adopted by himself)
Personality:
A typical bad-boy, smart-allik, street mutt. Ricochet is sarcastic and lazy, but nevertheless very down-to-earth, street-wise and skilled in fighting, with his masterful agility and intense strategies paying off big. Although he may not be suborn and usually knows when he's beat, don't count Ricochet out if a fight; if he's loyal to you he'll be right by your side regardless of the odds, and more than likely he'll be better than you anyway. Ricochet embraces the "que-sera, sera" way of thinking, not having an outside care in the world apart from maybe his family(gang included) and his old hatred for his dad, although he'd never admit such feelings; although Rico may show a soft spot for those he cares for, he generally dislikes showing his feelings, thinking it makes him vulnerable. Going along with his insincere emotions, Rico became ever a ladies' man, and is a perpetual show-off...not to say he lacks the skill to back up the steep claims that come out of his mouth. Not at all.
History:
Rico was born and raised on the streets--well, he was born anyway. Rico's father was never around except to take advantage of him and his mother to ask for handouts, while Rico's mother died young from exposure, leaving him and his siblings completely alone and inexperienced. After his siblings died off one by one, Rico was left to somehow survive on his own. Although his mother was sickly, Rico was strong, and managed to grow up through his pup-hood relatively unscathed.
As a saving grace, he was picked up by a group of strays taking pity on him, but they abused Rico by training him as a fighter and using hm in gang battles. Despite becoming quite a sought-out prodigy in street-fighting, Rico ran away as soon as he was old enough to survive independently. Rico received several offers from different bands looking to harness his talents for fighting, but Rico, however, didn't want a boss or a master; struggling along trying to avoid his father's selfishness and his old gang's greedy paws led to Ricochet harboring deep hatred for authority, and especially father figures.
When a trust-worthy wolf-cross named Raul asked for the young shepherd mix's loyalty, it was different. He treated Ricochet as an equal, and Ricochet knew he would have a friend in him. So, without much hesitation, Rico joined the new gang, taking the name "Ricochet", and finally felt a strange feeling of family.
It may have been the dramatic change in atmosphere that inspired him, but when Rico spotted a young female pup, utterly alone and dying, Rico saw in her a reflection of his own tattered youth and took pity on her. He adopted her, naming her "Tylana" so that he might disguise her from thugs as a male by calling her "Tye", but later on it turned out he needn't have bothered. Raul graciously accepted her into the gang, and even gave her special care and protection to help her recovery. Ricochet grew very proud of his kid, teaching her in fighting and self-defense, and rubbing off on her to such an extent that she became quite the little toughie, even giving the boys a run for their money.
Rico had quite forgotten about his old life, until one day he heard a familiar bark coming from behind one of the nicer houses in the neighborhood. To his disgust, Rico's estranged father had once again crawled from the hole he lived in to pester a young female living in the house. Rico wasn't a night-in-shining-armor type, and the female certainly looked more trashy than princess, but what the hell--Rico had some things to say to his pop.
He told off his old man, but was angered to hear him address both himself and the female as his children. It took maybe a second to scare the old dog away, but not before Rico decided to try to reconnect with this female, this apparent last shred left of his family.
It turns out that he and the girl--Bonnie--were actually only half-siblings, but they got along famously besides. Rico disproves of some of her choices, including her whoring around and especially her neglect of her own young daughter, Royle, who reminded Rico so much of himself and of Tye. When Bonnie is off doing what she does from the time she wakes up at noon to the time she sloughs home in the early morning, Rico checks on Royle in the small barn her mother hides her in. Rico often takes her out to hang with his gang, knowing Raul won't mind and eager to help Royle and give Tye a companion.
He's very fond of both little girls, but of course Ricochet is Ricochet; he still schmoozes off any older pretty face he sees besides, but takes especial liking to a feisty, cold, and petite Dalmatian in the gang, Saunders. She clearly dislikes mischievous Tye and Royle, but Rico prefers goading the girls on in their naughty behaviors in an effort to annoy Saunders, which he succeeds in doing often.
Other:
-The bandana and wrappings are actually from Bonnie's owners, but he never tells the gang of their true origins.
-He actually ranks pretty high in the pack: second in command to Raul (although Lyra, as the other Alpha, does out-rank him regardless).
