Valentine
Name: Valentine
Breed: Mackenzie River Husky
Gender: Male
Status: Stray
Mate: N/A; Junebug
Pups: N/A
Parents: N/A; adopted by Cedar
and Amelia
Siblings: N/A; Adopted Siblings
Likes: His parents, the wild, hunting, Junebug
Dislikes: Dharia, Guy, humans, too much going on at once
Personality: Val likes to think of himself as simple. He doesn't want too much going on in his life because he likes to take time and absorb any new information that is given to him. Valentine is humble, shy, and a bit of a goofy clutz. He crushes on girls in town from afar and imagines what it would be like to be loved by one of them. He is a good hunter suprisingly for being a dog, just not nearly as good as his dad. Struggles with other survival instincts such as interacting with other predators (he tends to be a bit shyer and doesn't stand his ground.) Loves to pick on his siblings.
History: (Subject to change)
Valentine was destined to be a champion breeding dog and sled dog that was until he was kidnapped by a wolf and his dog mate. Val was taken to the wild to be raised by the loving couple. Cedar, Val's adopted father, didn't want the wolf gene to be passed down in his family and felt that him and Amelia should adopt. Cedar craved to be a dog more than anything while Valentine grew up to be just the opposite. Val wanted to be a wolf. To not have rules, to run wild and free. To be apart of a larger family pack and find a mate of his own when the time came.
Many times Cedar pushed for the whole family to be adopted by humans but many of them were shot at, had bottles thrown at them, and were beaten for being feral. Valentine grew to hate humans. Cedar still hoped that one day they all would live the 'better life'. Amelia though would disagree with her mate and told him the miseries of being with humans. She was abused for many years and Cedar did feel bad for her. His fur would prickle whenever he looked at the scars tracing his beautiful mate's body. Or the mention of the humans that hurt her. Cedar though had also seen kindess in humans though and wanted his children too feel that unconditional love. Val though wanted his father to teach him how to survive in the wild, how to defend himself. Not how to sit 'pretty' or beg just right.
Valentine had taught himself how to hunt larger game after his mother showed him the basics on a snowshoe hare. He did pretty good for himself. Once while tracking a herd of caribou though Val was attacked by a male dog. He was larger than Valentine and mostly black. Valentine froze not knowing how to defend himself very well. When the dog chased Val off far enough from the herd did he turn back and rejoin the now circling other dogs. A brown fluffy haired female looked at Valentine curiously. It felt like time froze. She was so beautiful.
A grey female ran up to Valentine and started barking obnoxiously at him. Val took off. But later that night he returns. Creeping in the shadows to see her again. Now Val follows the herd just to watch her.
