Gender: Male
Status: Owned; Church Dog
Mate: Lopp
Pups: N/A
Parents: Norm and Tessa
Siblings: Donna
Half Siblings: Norma Jean, Brandon, Autogyro, Glider, Wilbur, Flettner
Likes: Peace, happiness, good intention, calmness, going for walks, listening to the Preacher
Dislikes: Outbursts, senseless fighting, rebellion, passion, the younger generations, temptation
Personality: Rupert is very zen and is often given Zen as a nickname. He is a self proclaimed peace keeper and follows Preacher John around everywhere. Very faithful but wont waste energy on something he finds too distracting from the church. Likes to give speeches and is labelled crazy by many of Nome's other canines. Has a small band of followers who also believe in Rupert's religous views. Rupert refrains to call them friends though. Zen is easily embarrased and once you get past his calm boundary you will learn that he is quite the blusher and a bit silly.
History: Rupert was a young sickly pup that was abandoned by his mother. Luckily he was found by Preacher John on the church's front steps. Preacher John took him in and nutured him back to health. Rupert always thought that Preacher John was an angel that was shown on the church's many stained glass windows. From that moment on Zen was faithful to the church and all who came to it. Especially Preacher John's nephew, Zachary. Zen was given his cross necklace by Zachary, the boy had carved it from wood and made the string from reindeer hide.
Zachary wasn't very liked in school. One day when Zach was walking home a bully pushed him down and started hitting him with a stick. Jethro heard the boy's crys and ran to him. At that moment Jethro didn't know what happend to his composure. The next thing he new was that he had sprung on top of the attacker like a wild jungle cat. The scared boy grabbed a rock and slashed Rupert in the neck twice. Zen slowly got off the boy and walked Zach home. Rupert had recieved two scars from that night but he saved little Zachie and was rewarded with a bone. (TBE)
--She was looked at oddly by the blue dog and he came prancing up to her. He was very dignified, each step he took seemed graceful. Lopp and Rupert, the blue dog, both paused and looked at each other. Rupert's falling agape. Time just seemed to stop.
Rupert though was the one to break the ice. He asked her what she was doing by the church and why she was bleeding a little. Lopp broke down and told him everything. After she said her master had died, Rupert perked up a bit and asked where he was. Lopp told him and Rupert ran to the preacher barking loudly. Lopp and Rupert showed the preacher where Lopp's master was and he was taken back to town.
Lopp's master had a funeral the next day, while she was kept at the church. She slept in the hay of the Nativity Scene. Over the next couple months Rupert kept Lopp under his wing, teaching her all he knew about the church. The two became very close and Rupert wanted them to be together. He asked Lopp to become his mate and she accepted. --
